The Rocco Effect - The Future Is Unwritten

How often have you seen the future change in a blink of an eye?  2020, for instance.  We started with Australia in flames, WW3 getting talked about, a deadly virus engulfing the world, lockdowns, social distancing, masks ect.  It seemed like the future was changing everyday.  It seemed like 2020 was different, but it wasn't, the future always lies in uncertainty.

How often have you witnessed the future changing? Death, birth, break ups, a new relationship, huge losses, gigantic wins/losses ect.  How should we handle these constant changes?  How do we live life knowing that the future we envision is likely to change in reality?

We focus on our mental growth.  The knowledge we gain, the skills we acquire and the memories we have gathered.  They can't be taken from us unless through death (of the mind).  No matter the future if were knowledgeable, have the skills and have our memories to help guide us, we'll survive, and thrive when others are beaten down by the changes. Imagine yourself homeless, how do you survive that for a day/week/month/year?  Others before us have survived much worse.  You can too.

2. What skills have you developed ?

Bonus - Everything is on loan

Everything is on loan.   Our possessions, our friends, family, even our own lives.  If we're lucky the loan is repaid after we die, but we've all had loans retuned before we where ready or worse, before we were aware it was a loan. Whenever you are in a state of truly loving life remind yourself 'This is all on loan.'  Be grateful and take in all you can, cause one day, memories is all you'll have left.

The Rocco Effect - Values

It's not hard to make decisions when you know what your values are. ― Roy Disney Values are the reason why somethings make us happy and others make us sad. If you value the truth, even a white lie, in the hopes to make you feel better, would hurt you. If you value family, only for them to pick friends over you, that would hurt. Often we feel this way, without knowing why and this leads to a lot of stress and questioning ourselves.  Once you know your values, knowing what choice to make is a lot easier. You choose whatever choice is closest to your highest values. Even in failure, you can rest happy, knowing that you made the right choice. Comic Video Reading Task 1.
