The Rocco Effect - Body Pose

If you saw someone hunched over, head facing the ground and walking slowly how do you think they feel?  Compare that to someone standing upright, shoulders back with their head held high.  We know that our feelings put us into these poses, but did you know the opposite is possible?  We can change how we feel by changing our stance and we can prime stances by linking it to a certain feeling.  Priming takes time, but you can quickly see the effects for yourself by standing up straight with your shoulders back.  Take note of how much better you feel , then start priming other poses so you can always quickly feel your best. What we say is a reflection on how we think.  Don't let tough times make you believe that your anything less than awesome.  We all go through tough times, if your in one now, keep pushing through.   Video

The Rocco Effect - Consistincy Bias

Do you want to become the person you've always dreamed of being? of course you do.   Constancy Bias is a psychological bias everyone has.  It states that we will want to be consistent with what we said we believed in the past.  As a result we should state that we are strong, contagious, beautiful, fun, awesome e.c.t and let the bias take over to make these things true. The Rocco Effect - Small Favor

Do you want your enemies to treat you better?  Try getting them to do you a small favour, failing that, just say 'Thank you for (something they did) that really helped me a lot'.  Who do you help? people you like.  By thanking them for doing favours you are persuading them into believing that they do like you.  Give it a go and share your results in the comment section. The Rocco Effect - Staying Sane

We panic when there is no structure in our lives or when something breaks our regular structure.  So if your regular structure has changes take time to plan out a new one.  It will take a while to adjust, but once you do you'll start feeling calmer.  Give it a go and notice how much better your life becomes/ Video

The Rocco Effect - Rest

After God created the universe, earth and everything on it what did he do? He rested. If he needs to rest, so do you. So take a day or two off, focus on nothing and just relax. Take naps and make sure you get enough sleep, so you can perform at your best. Task 1. If your feeling worn out take a days rest, get off social media for a day and just focus on yourself and relaxing. 2. If your not burnt out make sure you get enough sleep tonight. 3. If you fail to get enough sleep. Nap for 20 minutes during the day. Video

The Rocco Effect - No Complaining Challenge

When we complain we put our focus on what's wrong. If you're like most people, you focus on the fact that your helpless and it's up to the world to solve these problems for you. All your doing is telling yourself 'I'm weak and the world is a scary dangerous and evil place' how do you think that mentally will affect your life? Stop now, don't allow yourself to complain for a week. You'll be amazed at how much happier and calmer you feel. Task 1. Don't complain for a week 2. If you need to complain post what you are doing to combat it 3. Notice how quickly your life improves Video

The Rocco Effect - Always be moving forward

Depression hits us when we stop moving forward in life.  It doesn't matter what it is, do something daily, that you can easily track.  this momentum will give your life meaning and meaning is the key to beating depression. Task 1. Learn something new, every day (After you learn something, take a note on your phone, so you don't forget and so you can see you can track your progress). 2. Share something you know (TikTok is perfect if you only have short bursts of knowledge) 3. Write down what you did each day.  You'll be able to look back and track your progress whenever you start feeling depressed. Video

Qualities

What qualities do you have that your proud of? Are you kind, helpful, loyal, honest, courageous, adventurist?  Write as many as you can down.  Read and remind yourself every morning for the next week about how awesome you are.  Close your eyes and remember times you acted the qualities out.  Notice how you feel during this..Notice your posture as well.  Walk out into the world with your shoulders back and feeling , awesome and do 1 thing that  will highlight 1 of your qualities.

Ask better questions

Stop asking yourself 'why is my life so bad?', 'Why does no one like me?' 'Why do I fail at everything?' and focusing on all the crap, Instead ask yourself 'How can I make my life better?' 'What can I do to be more attractive?' 'What are some smaller tasks I can easily win at?' these types of questions will allow you to think of solutions.  Focusing on what you can do to improve and actively moving towards a better future (even if it's slow) will lead to a much happier and more meaningful life. Try it for a few days and notice how you feel after answering these questions.

Fix the small problems

If you want to change the world, start off by making your bed. -  William H. McRaven This has multiple benefits for 1 fixing problems makes your world a better place, living in a better world should make you happier.  It also serves as a small win.  It's an easy task but do enough small things and you'll start feeling proud and happier.  And it's not just you who lives on this world, if your help affects others then your likely to get more and more people who like you. If you notice a small problem (or something that could lead to a problem) solve it. See some mess? clean it. Dishes pilings up? Clean them and put them back? No clothes? Clean them. By solving the small problems it gives you more time to do the things you want. You'll have accomplished something so you will feel pride /happy. This is a very easy task and over time the benefits really add up so i highly encourage everyone reading to try this. Wherever you are. Stay seated but lo...

Gratitude - The three A's of Awesome

Be thankful for what you have; you'll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don't have, you will never, ever have enough - Oprah Winfrey One of my favorite Ted talks if you're depressed or wanting to avoid depression it's worth checking out. Task - check out his website ( http://1000awesomethings.com ) Then write your own list of things you are grateful for (Even if it's just 1 thing each day). Add to the list, or just read it every morning to make sure you start the day in the right state of mind. The idea is to start to notice just how much you have to be grateful for, If your grateful it's a lot harder to be depressed. If you can't appreciate what you have you'll never be happy so learn how to appreciate all you have.
