The Rocco Effect - Stretch before bed

A ruffled mind makes a restless pillow. - Charlotte Bronte

The Rocco Effect - Stretch Before Bed

We all know the importance of a good sleep, but sometimes getting that is easier said than done.  Lying in bed, overwhelmed by thoughts has kept everyone up at some point in their lives.  How do we clear our heads, so we can sleep?  You meditate and clear your head.

But it's not always thoughts that keep us up.  Sometimes we have to much energy stored up inside us.  Being active throughout the day will minimize this.  Stretching before bed will serve as a 'cool down' and rest your body.  Not only will it rest your body, stretching improves your physical performance, decreases your risk of injury, and helps your joints move through their full range of motion.

Task

Stretch and focus on your breath before bed.  If i thought enters your head, return focus back to your breath.  Stretch your head and work your way down to your toes.

1. Notice how rested you feel

2. Notice as your head gets less cluttered, each day.

3. Notice how quickly you fall asleep.

Ask better questions

Stop asking yourself 'why is my life so bad?', 'Why does no one like me?' 'Why do I fail at everything?' and focusing on all the crap, Instead ask yourself 'How can I make my life better?' 'What can I do to be more attractive?' 'What are some smaller tasks I can easily win at?' these types of questions will allow you to think of solutions.  Focusing on what you can do to improve and actively moving towards a better future (even if it's slow) will lead to a much happier and more meaningful life. Try it for a few days and notice how you feel after answering these questions.

The Rocco Effect - Staying Sane

We panic when there is no structure in our lives or when something breaks our regular structure.  So if your regular structure has changes take time to plan out a new one.  It will take a while to adjust, but once you do you'll start feeling calmer.  Give it a go and notice how much better your life becomes/ Video

The Rocco Effect - Fuck Off!

Do not allow negative thoughts to enter your mind for they are the weeds that strangle confidence. - Bruce Lee How often do you have negative thoughts? I'm guessing more often than you'd like. We wouldn't let others talk to us that way, so why do we allow ourselves? Next time you notice one of these thought reply with 'Fuck off!' and replace it with the opposite though Eg. I'm stupid - Fuck off! - I'm a genius. Both are untrue, but one leads to you feeling rubbish and one leads to you feeling good. Why would you choose to feel rubbish when it's just as easy to feel great?  Comic Task   1. Notice your thoughts   2. Tell bad thoughts to 'Fuck off!'   3. Replace thought with the opposite   4. Start feeling great again   Journal questions   1. What thoughts have you told to 'Fuck off!'?  2. What have you replaced them with?  3. How do these new thoughts make you feel?
