The Rocco Effect - Body Pose

If you saw someone hunched over, head facing the ground and walking slowly how do you think they feel?  Compare that to someone standing upright, shoulders back with their head held high.  We know that our feelings put us into these poses, but did you know the opposite is possible?  We can change how we feel by changing our stance and we can prime stances by linking it to a certain feeling.  Priming takes time, but you can quickly see the effects for yourself by standing up straight with your shoulders back.  Take note of how much better you feel , then start priming other poses so you can always quickly feel your best. What we say is a reflection on how we think.  Don't let tough times make you believe that your anything less than awesome.  We all go through tough times, if your in one now, keep pushing through.   Video

The Rocco Effect - Deep Breath

Do you want to be less stressed and more calm?  Try taking 10 deep breaths, in through the nose, hold and out through the mouth 3 times a day.  Notice how much calmer you feel after the breaths and how much better you feel overall after a week. Video

The Rocco Effect - Focus

Can't emphasis this enough. Focus is the key to overcoming these mental problems. Don't let them win. If negative thoughts creep into your head tell them to 'Fuck off!' with as much emotion and power as possible then replace it with the exact opposite e.g 'i suck ' changes to' I'm bloody amazing '. Give it a go. It'll be tough but you'll start noticing a positive change in a few days. After weeks and months you'll be amazed at how much better you feel on a day to day basis. Task 1. Write down your negative thoughts 2. Change them to be positive. 3. Read the positive thoughts every morning and before you go to sleep. Video

Fix the small problems

If you want to change the world, start off by making your bed. -  William H. McRaven This has multiple benefits for 1 fixing problems makes your world a better place, living in a better world should make you happier.  It also serves as a small win.  It's an easy task but do enough small things and you'll start feeling proud and happier.  And it's not just you who lives on this world, if your help affects others then your likely to get more and more people who like you. If you notice a small problem (or something that could lead to a problem) solve it. See some mess? clean it. Dishes pilings up? Clean them and put them back? No clothes? Clean them. By solving the small problems it gives you more time to do the things you want. You'll have accomplished something so you will feel pride /happy. Gratitude - The three A's of Awesome

Be thankful for what you have; you'll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don't have, you will never, ever have enough - Oprah Winfrey One of my favorite Ted talks if you're depressed or wanting to avoid depression it's worth checking out. Task - check out his website ( http://1000awesomethings.com ) Then write your own list of things you are grateful for (Even if it's just 1 thing each day). Add to the list, or just read it every morning to make sure you start the day in the right state of mind. The idea is to start to notice just how much you have to be grateful for, If your grateful it's a lot harder to be depressed. If you can't appreciate what you have you'll never be happy so learn how to appreciate all you have.
